Founded by visionary vintner Stephanie L. Franklin, this award-winning label brings attention to the remarkable, often untold story of agricultural excellence in Shankleville, Texas, a historic freedom colony established by her ancestors.

Through intentional storytelling, purpose-driven wine, and the development of a vineyard on her family’s land, Franklin Vines is restoring connection to place, history, and the possibilities of what can grow when legacy takes root.

Meet the Winemaker

Stephanie Franklin is the visionary founder and vintner of Franklin Vines, a trailblazing Texas wine brand that embodies her heritage and innovative spirit. Leaving a thriving corporate career behind, Stephanie pursued her passion for wine and agriculture, driven by a mission to revitalize her ancestral land in Shankleville, Texas, a historic freedom colony founded by her ancestors.

With multiple wine certifications and hands-on winemaking experience in Napa and Texas, Stephanie’s inaugural 2022 Tannat vintage has garnered national recognition, earning a gold medal in the International Women’s Wine Competition and a silver medal in the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. As a wine judge for the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo – Rodeo Uncorked! competition and a proud member of the Texas Small Farmers and Ranchers, Stephanie also serves on the board of the Shankleville Historical Society.
